How do fractional CO2 laser and laser skin resurfacing treatments work?
Your skin is treated one micro-portion at a time, repeated thousands of times. Each micro-portion of your skin receives just enough laser energy to vaporize the aged skin that you no longer want, while also stimulating new collagen growth of surrounding tissue. It’s more than simply skin resurfacing – it’s actually deep skin rejuvenation, which may result in skin that appears younger and more vibrant.
What is a fractional CO2 laser or laser skin resurfacing treatment like?
Treatments last from 30 to 90 minutes. We apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area about an hour before treatment. The procedure then takes about 30 minutes for a full face. You skin will feel heated and cold air is used to reduce discomfort. After the procedure, you will feel as though you have a sunburn but this typically subsides within 1-3 hours. The redness and swelling that you experience after the treatment will subside within a few days.
How many treatments do I need?
Typically, patients require three to five sessions that are scheduled from six to sixteen weeks apart, depending on the extent of each treatment.
What type of improvement will I see?
Your complexion will be smoother, more vibrant, and healthier when you’re done. Large pores will be reduced in size, and minor imperfections will be reduced.
